Lazy student recipes

Pizza Toast

Easy uni meals don’t come much easier than this. Ingredients – bread, tomato sauce, cheese, any toppings you like. Coat your base in tomato sauce before loading it with cheese and your toppings of choice. Pop it in the oven and boom! The perfect meal for anyone strapped for cash.

Mac and Cheese

The ultimate comfort food after a night of heavy drinking. Cook some macaroni pasta (or any shape you please). Make a mixture of grated cheese, milk, flour and butter. Put this on the stove, stir everything together. Top it with some bacon/cauliflower and bake in the oven until golden.

Chicken Fajitas

Get some boneless chicken and cut into strips. Fry it on a pan with peppers, paprika, onion, and black pepper. Heat some tortilla wraps. Depending on your price range, fill your tortillas with salsa, cheese, sour cream and guacamole.

A Quick Omelette

One of the best student recipes for someone in a hurry. Melt some butter on a pan, and put a mixture of eggs, milk, salt and pepper. Fill it with ham, onions or mushrooms if you’re feeling zesty. It’s literally that simple!

Spaghetti Bolognese

Here’s where it gets a little more complex. Heat some virgin oil in a large pot. Add garlic, onion and cook your mince until brown. Add some tinned tomatoes, tomato soup, oregano and salt and pepper.

When your mince starts simmering, boil your spaghetti for 10-12 minutes. Once ready, pour the sauce over your plated spaghetti. Add some grated cheese if you’re feeling fancy.

Loaded Nachos

Loaded Nachos are dead easy to make, but also taste amazing. All you need is nachos, cheese and some salsa. The options are endless. You can top your nachos with any toppings you like, from cooked mince to jalapenos or crushed avocado.
